British Columbia declares May 29, 2026 as ‘Nepali Heritage Day’, a historic achievement for the Nepali community

Kathamandu / The Canadian province of British Columbia has officially declared May 29, 2026, as “Nepali Heritage Day”.
The announcement is a high recognition of the cultural, social and economic contributions of the Nepali Canadian community and a historic moment of pride for Nepal and Nepalis around the world.
Raju Bhattarai, President of the Nepal Cultural Society of British Columbia (NCSBC), said this achievement is the result of the collective efforts of the NCSBC Board of Directors, partner organizations and the entire Nepali Canadian community.
